About Human Performance at Work™

Human Performance at Work™ was created from a simple belief:

People are not problems to solve. They are humans to understand.

The workplace experience shapes how people communicate, collaborate, adapt, and perform.

HPW exists to help leaders and organizations intentionally create environments where people can do their best work.

Founder & Creator, Human Performance at Work™

I've always been curious about people.

Why do two people experience the same situation and leave with completely different perspectives? Why do environments bring out the best in some people and slowly diminish others? Why do we become different versions of ourselves depending on where we are, who we're with, and whether we feel safe enough to simply be ourselves?

Those questions have stayed with me for as long as I can remember.

Over time, they led me to study leadership, organizations, psychology, sociology, education, economics, and human behavior—not as separate disciplines, but as interconnected parts of the human experience.

As my career evolved, I found myself asking a different question.

What happens to people when they go to work?

Every day, millions of people walk into an organization and spend eight or more hours navigating expectations, relationships, pressure, change, and uncertainty. Then they go home as parents, spouses, neighbors, caregivers, and friends. Work isn't separate from life. It's one of the most influential environments in our lives, shaping how we think, feel, connect, and grow.

That's why I've never believed organizations are simply in the business of delivering products or services.

Their real business has always been people.

Throughout my career, I've partnered with organizations to strengthen leadership, design learning experiences, guide change, and improve organizational performance. Regardless of the industry, I continued to see the same pattern:

Performance challenges were rarely just performance challenges.

They were often the result of people trying to succeed in environments that weren't intentionally designed for human flourishing.

Long before I developed a methodology, I learned one of the most important lessons of my life from my great-grandmother.

She had an extraordinary ability to make every person she met feel genuinely seen, heard, and valued. At her funeral, each of us quietly believed we had been her favorite. Looking back, I realize that wasn't because she treated one person differently than another. It was because she had the rare gift of making every interaction feel deeply personal.

Her example shaped the way I move through the world.

Whether I'm working with executives, coaching leaders, speaking to an audience, or simply meeting someone in everyday life, I try to leave people feeling encouraged, respected, and valued.

Because I've come to believe something deeply:

Extraordinary leadership is built through ordinary moments of human connection.

That belief became the foundation for Human Performance at Work™, my methodology for helping leaders intentionally create environments where people and organizations can thrive together.

Today, I continue to research, write, speak, and consult at the intersection of leadership, human behavior, organizational systems, and workplace culture.

My work isn't just about improving performance.

It's about helping leaders create places where people can become more of who they're capable of being.

Because when people flourish, organizations do too.
